You’ve probably heard by now that Sears has filed for bankruptcy. They are closing over 140 stores nationwide.
Two of those stores are in our own backyard.
The Sears locations in Centennial at Southglenn and in Lakewood on Colfax will be shutting down.
The bad news is that employees are getting this news around holiday time. Ironically, the good news is passed along to us because of the upcoming liquidation sales.
I remember going to Sears with my grandmothers. It was one of their favorite places to shop. I used to get an ICEE with popcorn when we left the store.
Hopefully Sears can re-organize and emerge from this bankruptcy as a different company.
