Whoopi Goldberg hosted the Oscar’s in 1994, 1996, 1999 and in 2002 so she knows a thing or two about what it takes to host the event.
On The View, she said that it was the Academy’s choice to go host-less, as is being rumored, but she said it is a dumb idea. She said that people need someone to take them through things and take care of things when they happen. She went on to say, Now I realize I may not be anybody’s first choice, but…” and the audience broke out into applause.
Whoopi continued, I’m also problematic. Half the country is sometimes really mad at me, the other half is okay until tomorrow and then they’re pi**ed at me.
