Sammy Sosa
Samuel Kelvin Peralta Sosa or “Sammy Sosa” is from the Dominican Republic and played with four Major
League Baseball teams as a right fielder from 1989 to 2007, he soon became one of the league’s best
hitters. In 1998, he squared off with Mark McGwire in a neck-and-neck competition to break Roger
Maris’ home run record. His real milestone came, when he hit his 600th career home run, making him
the fifth player in MLB history to do so. JAMMIN’ one oh one five recognizes Sammy Sosa
