Simone Biles Nails Nearly Impossible Yurchenko Double Pike Twice!
The bigger question is, will she pull it off this weekend to become the first woman to EVER land the move in the official competition?
In case your wondering why this is a big deal, the Yurchenko double pike is named for Soviet gymnast Natalia Yurchenko. The move is when a gymnast starts with a roundoff back-handspring approach to the vault, which leads to a double flip while the athlete maintains a straight-legged position.
