Simone Biles Is TIME’s 2021 Athlete Of The Year
Simone Biles has been named as TIME Magazine’s 2021 Athlete Of The Year. The seven-time Olympic medalist’s year was defined by more than just her accomplishments on the mat: “this year demonstrated how athletes are uniquely positioned to propel mental health to the forefront of a broader cultural conversation.” Biles was also praised for testifying before the Senate on sexual abuse of hundreds of athletes by former USA team doctor Larry Nassar.
