New safer-at-home guidelines announced by Gov. Jared Polis
In a news conference Monday Gov. Jared Polis announced the next steps to the safer-at-home guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic for Coloradans.
“We continue with good news, which is only as good as people’s behavior,” Polis said about the downward trend of COVID-19 cases on 12 of the last 14 days in Colorado.
Many of the existing guidelines will remain like wearing masks in public and social distancing.
“We’re just a few steps ahead of this virus and we’ll only continue to move the right way if Coloradans continue to use precautions” These new guide lines are a draft open for comment through Wednesday, June 17th and will go into effect Thursday, June 18th. The daily coronavirus infection growth rate and hospitalization growth rate continue to decline, Polis said,
NEW GUIDELINES
- Bars can reopen and allow up to 25% of capacity or up to 50 people.
- Indoor events such as receptions, conferences and museums can begin to open.
- Outdoor events like concerts, fairs and rodeos can resume.
- Personal services such as shaves and facial can resume.
- Residential camps are allowed to resume with no more than 25 campers in a group.

The Protect Our Neighbors phase is the next phase Colorado looks to move into.

- treat patients and handle the surge in need for intensive hospital care
- conduct testing and effective case investigation, contact tracing, and outbreak response
