New Owner, New Hope for Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch

There could be new life coming to Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. According to a reporter for Chron.com, there has been activity a the 2,700 square-foot ranch. The property was purchased by billionaire Ron Burkle, who was also Jackson’s financial advisor up until his death in 2009. Burkle called the acquisition a “land grab,’ rather than a personal connection to Jackson. “It’s just not a bad thing to have your money tied up in,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “Our staff has been out to the site multiple times for about the last four to six months,” says Errin Briggs, a supervising planner for the Santa Barbara County. “We don’t yet have any permit requests for new structures, but they’ve pulled permits for roofing, existing structures, electrical — pretty minor stuff, but we can confirm work is being done.”
Should Neverland Ranch be restored to what it once was, or should it be turned into something new?
