Former Boxing Champ Leon Spinks Dead At 67

Former Boxing Champ Leon Spinks Dead At 67!

Spinks, who defeated the one and only Muhammad Ali back in the day, lost his five-year battle with prostate and other cancers on Friday evening!

He faced Muhammad Ali on February 15, 1978, in Vegas and won, becoming the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion! Ali would go on to reclaim that title seven months later at the Superdome in New Orleans.

Spinks retired in 1995 with a 26-17-3 record with 14 knockouts and was inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame in 2017.

According to his publicist, he never lost his winning smile despite being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019. He was hospitalized in December that year after cancer spread to his bladder.

RIP!!!
