Awww, the Denver Zoo just announced that Tensing, a greater one-horned rhino, recently gave birth to a baby girl.
The significance of it all is, this marks the first time that’s happened at the Denver Zoo.
At one time, the greater one-horned rhino, also known as the “Indian rhino,” were pushed the the brink of extinction by the start of the 20th Century, when the wild population dwindled to around 200! Now, it is estimated that the wild populations have increased to around 3,500!
No name for the baby rhino has been announced yet, but the zoo will most likely hold a contest to name the baby soon!
