In celebration of the Denver Nuggets’ advancement to the NBA Finals, the city renamed Bannock Street Plaza to Denver Nuggets Way. Mayor Hancock and employees of the City and County of Denver gathered with special guests from the Nuggets Wednesday morning for the unveiling.
Hancock, Nuggets mascot Rocky, the Nuggets Dancers and city workers unveiled Denver Nuggets Way in anticipation of Game 1 of the championship series Thursday evening.
“We get a chance to see history!” Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said at the ceremony. The Nuggets have never made an NBA Finals appearance in their 47-year history.
