Grammy winner Bootsy Collins was born in Cincinnati OH., where he still resides. At the tender age of 15, he became a staff musician at the very prestigious King Records and soon afterwards, he was touring the world with Hank Ballard and the hardest working man in show business, Mr. James Brown.
Bootsy went on to collaborate with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, (P-Funk) where the One was established along with many gold and platinum hit records. Then came Bootsy’s own off shoot legendary monster group Bootsy's Rubber Band. This is where Bootsy became Bootzilla and a whole host of other characters. In 1991, Collins received a video in the mail. It was from a guy with a bucket on his head who called himself Buckethead, the two proceeded to record Buckethead’s first Album called Buckethead Land. Soon after that Dee-lite sent a Boot-signal high in the sky and Bootsy answered, which led to recording Groove is in the Heart. Collins subsequently hooked up and recorded with artists such as Snoop Dogg, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phil Ramone, Keith Richards, Victor Wooten, Dave Stewart, Fatboy Slim, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Ice Cube, Afrika Bambaataa and Bill Laswell, Motown’s Funk Brothers. In 1997, Bootsy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received his first Grammy in 2002 with his friend FatBoy Slim.

General Policies
The Boulder Theater produces events that span most musical genres. We also have clients who host corporate and private events. Therefore, regulations may vary from event to event to ensure the safety of our patrons, staff, licenses and historic building. Below is a list of Boulder Theater policies which may be amended on a per show basis.
If you have questions regarding a specific event, please go to the Boulder Theater contact page or call us directly at 303-786-7030 during box office hours.
21+ versus All Age Shows
Our events are 21+ unless otherwise noted.
Patrons under the age of 21 can attend most events while escorted by a parent or legal guardian. The Boulder Theater reserves the right to not admit children to certain shows. Parent's I.D. held at the door.
For fully seated shows, all ages may be seated together most of the time. We do reserve the right, when hosting a mixed age event, to place under 21 folks in the balcony only. This is usually advertised in advance as “all ages balcony only”. The main room is then reserved for those 21 and older. For the protection of our liquor license, minors are not allowed to re-enter after leaving the venue.
ID is required at all times for age sensitive events.
State issued ID’s and Passports are the ONLY acceptable forms of ID. Temporary, school, expired or military ID’s are NOT accepted.
False or altered ID’s will be confiscated and turned into authorities. Patron may be denied entry.
Here are all our No,’s that protect you, your friends and family, the artists, our staff, our licenses and our building:
We do understand that sometimes accidents happen, and we are willing to listen to any reasonable explanation for violations to our policies.
Special Needs
To request special seating for special needs, we are best able to accommodate you if we are contacted in advance. Generally we like to have patrons with special need arrive 15 minutes prior to doors opening so our staff can seat you in the best possible seat for your individual needs. Please call the house manager at 303-998-9380 or e-mail Mark Nicolella at
