All June

Denver Animal Shelter
If you’re thinking about bringing a furry new family member into your home, National “Adopt-a-Cat Month” may be the time time to do it. The month of June is all about cat adoption, from the first day to the last. Around late spring, you may start noticing the births of more and more litters of kittens due to mating season. Because of this sudden abundance of young kitties, animal shelters and rescue organizations often are full of cute new “junior” additions around the time June rolls around.
Even if you are at the moment unable to bring any kittens or adult cats into your home, that doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate National Adopt-a-Cat Month in your own way. Inquire at the Denver Animal Shelter or other rescue groups about possible posters you may be allowed to put up, or perhaps even flyers you can hand out. Many people who indeed may be seriously interested in adopting a cat might not be aware of all of June’s adoptions options!

Topeka is a young cat at only 2-years-old. She’s not so sure yet about being held, but she lovessss attention. It’s unknown if Topeka would do well with other cats, but she should do fine in a home with kids.

Waffles is a sweet 2-month-old little girl, but she can be a little nervous in new situations. She would love to have a feline companion in her forever home to show her the ropes and that life isn’t so scary. She did excellent in her foster home with 4 foster brothers- two dogs and two cats. Her favorite activities are snuggling and playing with toys.

Soxy has been adopted

Soxy – Looking for some spunk to start your summer off right? Soxy is a beautiful 1.5 year old female tuxedo kitty, looking for her forever home. She’s is a sweet girl with an independent side and lots of love to share! Soxy would be the perfect companion to lounge around with you while enjoying your beach reads and fruity cocktails in the sun, but is always ready for a good game of laser pointer chase. Come down and meet Soxy today, she could be your purrfect match!

Mama Lu, a 3-year-old tabby, has spent a combined 98 days at Denver Animal Shelter and in a foster home. She originally went to a foster home because she was very fearful. Her foster family said, “She was fearful at first but warmed up quickly. She’s been really social and outgoing, follows us around the apartment, and always wants to be near me. She has perfect litter box habits.” Mama Lu is back from foster and looking for her perfect #ForeverHome. Stop by Denver Animal Shelter to meet this sweet girl!

Oliver- Are you looking for a calm and quiet cat to add to your family? Then 4-year-old Oliver is the cat for you! He can be a little timid at first, but give him a chance to warm up and show you his loving side.

Chloe- is a 14 year old cat looking for the purrfect forever home! Chloe is a bit on the shy side and would do best as an indoor only cat. Due to her age, it is suggested that she goes to a home with children ages 8 and up.

Puck is an outgoing 1-year-old tabby that likes to head butt your hand for attention and pets, but he doesn’t care to be picked up and carried. Puck came in to the shelter wounded, possibly from a fight with another cat, so he would likely do best as the only cat in a home.

1-year-old Rupert is a bit shy, but give him some time to warm up and he’ll feel right at home. This sweet guy loves chin scratches and would likely do well in a home with another cat after a slow introduction.

Squeakers ADOPTED

Squeakers- is 12 year old cat who is looking for her forever companion. Despite being a little shy at first, she becomes very affectionate once she warms up to you. She will do best in a home with older children, ages 10 and up, who know how to give an older animal some space.

Fitzgerald adopted1

Fitzgerald- If you are looking for a friendly and outgoing cat, then Fitzgerald is the cat for you! Fitzgerald is 5 years old and he’s a big guy, weighing in at 16 lbs. He LOVES chin scratches and attention and doesn’t mind being picked up or held.
