AIDS Walk Colorado
Cheesman Park
AIDS Walk Colorado - A Walk For Life - is the Rocky Mountain Region’s oldest one-day HIV and AIDS fundraiser. More than 8,000 people from throughout the state come together as a community to raise money for vital services for HIV/AIDS clients of Colorado Health Network’s regional Colorado AIDS Project offices and Howard Dental Center, and many other outstanding AIDS service organizations.
The event serves as a day to remember those we have lost to the disease with prominent speakers and panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, in addition to the Celebration of Life Festival, live entertainment, food, beverages and the 7th annual AIDS Walk Colorado Volleyball Tournament, held in conjunction with the Colorado Gay Volleyball Association.
After completing the Walk and 5K Run, join us for the Celebration of Life Festival back in Cheesman Park! The Festival offers the opportunity for event attendees to come together as a community to celebrate the successes of current and evolving medical treatments. With so many people living longer and healthier lives with HIV, it’s only fitting to celebrate these successes and the lives of those we love.
Numerous vendors will be in attendance offering everything from goods and services to food and drinks. The CHEERS! Beer Garden will be serving ice cold beverages while great entertainment will play from the main stage, offering a leisurely and community-oriented afternoon. For the little ones, fun and creative children’s activities will be available in Kiddie Corner, as well as face painting. Colorado Gay Volleyball Association will once again be partnering with Colorado AIDS Project to host the AIDS Walk Volleyball Tournament. This yea’rs tournament will take place in the center meadow of Cheesman Park, just north of the festival area.
