Hilda Solis
Hilda Solis…As the first Hispanic woman appointed to serve in the California State Senate, Solis became
the 25th U.S. Secretary of Labor in 2009, making her also the first Hispanic woman to serve in the U.S.
Cabinet. Because of her work toward environmental justice, she was made the first female recipient of
