Dolores Huerta

Dolores Huerta…Alongside the late César Chávez, Huerta co-founded what would eventually become the

United Farm Workers labor union, in order to unite farmers into a union that fights to protect their

rights. For her service to her community and beyond, she has been the recipient of numerous awards

from labor and women’s organizations alike, making her a leading role model among Latinos and

activists earning her the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights and Presidential Medal of Freedom.
